Profiles help travellers make informed choices before connecting with others on the road.
Every user on VanLife Connect has a profile that may include photos, activity history, community participation, and feedback from past interactions. This helps provide context before engaging, booking a service, or meeting in person.
Community behaviour matters. VanLife Connect is built on respect, honesty, and common sense. Behaviour that undermines trust, including misleading information, harassment, unsafe conduct, or repeated complaints, may result in account restrictions or removal.
Some features require users to provide identity information or additional details. Any badges or indicators shown on profiles are designed to add context only and do not guarantee a person’s identity, qualifications, or conduct.
For step-by-step profile setup and verification details, please refer to the FAQ.
Reviews help set expectations and strengthen accountability across the VanLife Connect community.
After interactions, travellers and providers may leave feedback to share their experience. This feedback is visible to others and helps the community make more informed decisions about who to engage with.
Reviews are intended to reflect genuine experiences and community standards. Content that is misleading, abusive, or inappropriate may be moderated or removed in line with platform rules.
While reviews can be helpful, they are only one factor to consider. Travellers are encouraged to use their own judgement and communicate clearly before confirming any booking or meeting.
For how reviews are submitted, displayed, or managed, please see the FAQ.
Payments on VanLife Connect are handled in-app to reduce the risks associated with cash payments, informal transfers, or off-platform arrangements.
Using the platform’s payment flow helps create a clear record of transactions and supports fair outcomes if something goes wrong. Fees, pricing, and payment details are shown before a booking is confirmed, so there are no surprises.
VanLife Connect facilitates payments as a platform only and does not provide the underlying services. Funds handling and release follow clearly defined rules designed to balance protection for both travellers and providers.
For information about fees, payouts, refunds, or timing, please refer to the FAQ.
Location information is used to help surface relevant services, community updates, and nearby connections when you arrive somewhere new.
Features like Smart Arrival are designed to improve convenience, not to track users. Location signals are used intelligently and minimally, and are not shared publicly or displayed to other users unless you choose to enable specific social features.
You remain in control. Location services, notifications, and optional features can be adjusted or turned off at any time. Different features use different levels of location precision, and exact GPS locations are not shared by default.
VanLife Connect is built with privacy-first principles, particularly for travellers in remote areas.
For location settings and Smart Arrival configuration, please see the FAQ.
Most connections on VanLife Connect are positive, but meeting in person always involves personal judgement.
When meeting someone for the first time, consider:
- Meeting in public or well-known places where possible
- Letting a friend or family member know where you are going
- Using in-app messaging before sharing personal contact details
- Trusting your instincts and taking your time
You are never obligated to proceed with an interaction that does not feel right. If something feels off, you should prioritise your safety and disengage.
VanLife Connect does not supervise in-person interactions. Each user remains responsible for their own safety and decisions.
If something feels unsafe, misleading, or inappropriate, you can report it.
Reports may relate to behaviour, content, listings, messages, or safety concerns. Submitted reports are reviewed and action may be taken where required, which can include warnings, restrictions, or account removal.
Reporting helps protect the wider community and improve the platform for everyone. Serious concerns may be escalated or preserved for investigation where necessary.
For instructions on how to submit a report or what happens next, please refer to the FAQ.
VanLife Connect is a technology platform that helps travellers discover services, share information, and connect with others while on the road.
It is not an employer, contractor, agent, or supervisor of users. Service providers operate independently and set their own prices, availability, and methods. VanLife Connect does not provide the services listed on the platform.
Users remain responsible for:
- Their own decisions and interactions
- Assessing suitability, safety, and qualifications
- Complying with applicable laws and regulations
- Taking reasonable care when meeting others or engaging services
The platform is designed to support better connections, not to replace personal judgement.
